“You teach me what to do.”

Newly-appointed Regional Development Council (RDC) Chairperson Eustaquio Bersamin asked the members of the RDC Full Council of this during their meeting in Abra on July 15.

RDC Vice Chairperson Milagros Rimando formally announced the Abra Governor’s new role in the region during the culminating program of the seven-day celebration of this year’s Cordillera month.

The Office of the President, in a letter dated July 2, made the Abra Governor’s appointment known to the RDC. He shall take his seat once he takes his oath, which he chose to do in the presence of his brother, Justice Lucas P. Bersamin.

During the said meeting, the council approved the inclusion of the Amburayan River Basin in CAR in the 2015 list of River Basins for Master Plan Formulation. The guidelines for Forwarding Local Autonomy Medal of Excellence (FLAME) Awards was also launched in the meeting. The council agreed to refer back the Proposed Declaration on Environmental Governance (DPEG) to the Executive Committee for further discussion.

RDC Chairperson Bersamin shall preside the Executive Committee meeting coordinated by the RDC’s secretariat, NEDA-CAR, on August 13 in Baguio City.
