Baguio area-based public and private organizations needing technical assistance in the planning and implementation of poverty reduction and sustainable development programs and projects are encourage to avail of Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) volunteers for deployment in the city and its neighboring towns.
This was announced recently by Mr. Ga Rick Lee during the Cordillera Volunteers Symposium held on March 20, 2013 in Baguio City. Mr. Lee is an AVID volunteer presently providing technical assistance to the Peoples Organization for Social Transformation, an NGO operating in the Cordillera Region. He said that interested national government agencies, private organizations, NGOs or POs may contact Ms. Myles Liquigan of the Development Concepts at email@example.com for more details.
As is true for all requests for volunteer assistance, requests for AVID volunteers will go through the usual process required by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA). Request for Volunteer forms, as well as information on the volunteer request process, are available at www.pnvsca.gov.ph.
The PNVSCA reports that as of 30 June 2012, there are 23 AVID volunteers currently deployed in the Philippines. One of them is assigned in CAR.
