The Cordillera Regional Development Council (CAR RDC), in coming up with plans for more focused secom plans and activities for 2014, conducted the “Workshop on Setting the RDC Sectoral Committees’ Agenda for 2014”.

The workshop was held on February 27, 2014, at the Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc., in Guisad, Baguio City.  It was attended by about 56 participants led by the RDC Acting Chairperson and the RDC’s Sectoral Committee Chairpersons.

The objective of this activity is to ensure that the CAR Regional Development Plan goals and objectives are supported by the identified programs and projects of the region’s government agencies/organizations.

In the said workshop, the participants, grouped according to the sectoral committee they belong to, identified the major issues that affect the attainment of their respective sectors’ goals and objectives),  and prioritized the actions that can be done at the secom level to address these concerns.  These priority actions shall then form part of the proposed sectoral committees’ agenda for the year 2014.

The proposed priority actions identified by the various secoms include initiating the implementation of programs not addressed by the agency programs and projects, conduct of inter-agency convergence activities and dialogues with pertinent offices on priority concerns, support to needed legislations, and resolution and harmonization of conflicting policies.

The CAR RDC has seven sectoral committees, focusing on each of the following regional development concerns:  Development Administration, Economic Development, Social Development, Watershed and Natural Resources, Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Indigenous Peoples Concerns.
