Various activities across the region are lined-up by the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) for this year’s celebration of the National Statistics Month and everyone is encouraged to be part of the celebration.
This was announced by Mr. Aldrin Bahit of the Philippine Statistics Authority –Cordillera during the 3rd Quarter meeting of the Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC.)
According to Mr. Bahit, the activities, guided by this year’s NSM theme Facts and Figures for the Future: Statistics for Evidence-Based Decisions Towards Ambisyon Natin 2040,are aimed at promoting, enhancing and instilling awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and also elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
The opening program will be held on October 4 at the PIA grounds. It will feature a video showing on Ambisyon Natin 2040 and a kapihan on the National Statistics Month. Other activities planned for the celebration are presented in the table below.
The National Statistics Month was first observed in 1990 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month.

The RSC is chaired by NEDA-CAR Director Milagros A. Rimando, with Director Villafe Alibuyog of the PSA-CAR as Vice-Chair.
