Planners from municipal and provincial levels gathered last March 27, 2017 in a Planners Conference with the theme “Pagsulong ng Pagunlad at Autonomiya para sa matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay sa Cordillera.”
The conference was aimed at informing the local planners on the new Regional Development Plan and Investment Program 2016-2022 as well as critical advocacies of the region that need to be integrated in the local plans.
The advocacies presented for possible incorporation in the LGUs plans were (a) Investment Priorities Plan 2015-2016 (b) Cordillera Coffee Industry Development Plan 2016-2022 (c) Energy Master Plan (d) Alternative Transport Plan (e) Declaration of Principles for Environmental Governance, and (f) Regional Research Agenda 2015-2016.
In the afternoon, a workshop was conducted where the local planners were grouped by province and were asked of their issues and concerns with their proposed RDC actions to resolve the issues. During the workshop, the local planners were also asked to provide inputs to the different plans presented. Representatives from different line agencies (DILG, DENR, DSWD, DPWH, DOH, DTI, DOT, DA, BLGF and NEDA) were on hand to provide feedback on their issues and concerns.
During the program, Director Milagros Rimando presented to Dr. Paulina Sawadan a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her dedication and valued contribution as member of the Cordillera Autonomy Speakers Bureau since 2013 and for her volunteer efforts and initiatives in advocating for Cordillera Autonomous Region.
Newly appointed RDC Chair Mayor Mauricio Domogan welcomed the participants while Director Rimando gave the overview of the conference. ARD Jedidia Aquino presented the RDP-RDIP 2016-2022.
