LA TRINIDAD, Benguet –  An autonomous Cordillera region is a far cry amid the euphoria following the signing of the framework establishing a Muslim state in Mindanao.

Apparent lack of quorum in the House of Representatives and the Senate has affected the discussions on House Bill 5595 seeking to establish a Cordillera Autonomous Region, said Benguet Rep. Ronald Cosalan, an Ibaloi native.

Getting the ball rolling in both chambers, Cosalan, who earlier expressed second thoughts in the move to fast track Cordillera autonomy, said the possibility is dimming with the recent recess of Congress. Solons are headed for another break before the year ends followed by another recess before the campaign period in 2013.
