DepED-CAR, in partnership of the Regional Development Council (RDC) through the Social Preparation of CAR into an Autonomous Region (SPCAR), will hold a seminar-orientation on regional autonomy on the Saturdays of October and November in its division offices in the region.

The series of seminars will commence in Baguio on October 4. It will be held in the different provinces and will conclude on November 22 in Abra.

This project primarily aims to substantially enhance the awareness and understanding of the public school teachers, principals and district supervisors on the region’s pursuit of its autonomy. The history and the three core messages of autonomy will be discussed, and the salient features of House Bill 4649 will be clarified.

It shall also equip the participants with the necessary basic information on administrative discipline and the DepEd Child Protection Policy.

The DepEd-CAR was created through the enactment of Executive Order 220, the law that created the Cordillera Administrative Region. Hence, it stands to be affected by the outcome of the quest for autonomy.
