BAGUIO CITY – As part of the agency’s commitment to continually improve its Quality Management System (QMS), the Cordillera National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA-CAR) conducted the two-day In-house Training-Workshop on the ISO 9001:2015 Internal Quality Audit (IQA) on August 30-31, 2022, with Quality Plus Management as the training consultant. The training-workshop aimed to help the NRO staff appreciate the significance of IQA in the entire ISO process, better understand the concepts and principles of the audit cycle, and further enhance the competence of the IQA Team and the rest of the staff.
The online training-workshop was attended by 31 employees from both technical and administrative divisions. In her Opening Remarks, Assistant Regional Director Stephanie F. Christiansen emphasized that the training is in preparation for the agency’s surveillance audit under ISO 9001:2015 standards this year. ARD Christiansen, who is also the Quality Management Representative of the NRO, challenged the NEDA-CAR employees, especially the members of the IQA Team and Process Owners, to review and improve their Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Management Plan, and Audit Checklist. She enjoined the staff to look into gaps and potential non-conformities in their respective processes.
NEDA-CAR is steadfast in providing quality government services that are at par with international standards. In 2014, NEDA-CAR was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate by the TÜV Rheinland, a German independent certification body. In 2019, it passed the Quality Management System Surveillance Audit under the updated ISO 9001:2015.
