The National Economic and Development Authority Cordillera Administrative Region will convene a regional consultation on the draft Updated Regional Development Plan (RDP), Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) and Regional Results Matrices (RM) 2014-2016 on October 2, 2013 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City.
The updating of the RDP, RDIP and RM is synchronized with the updating of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), Public Investment Program (PIP) and Results Matrices (RM), which are the plans at national level.
While there were previous consultations done with regional government stakeholders, the scheduled consultation will involve mostly the Local Government Units (LGUs), the private sector and civil society organizations (CSOs) to give them the opportunity to advance their priorities in the updated RDP, RDIP and RM for consideration.
The updating activities are guided by the President’s “Social Contract with the Filipino People” on key result areas: (1) transparent, accountable and participatory governance; (2) poverty reduction and empowerment of the poor and vulnerable; (3) rapid, inclusive and sustained economic growth; (4) just and lasting peace; and (5) integrity of the environment and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Expected participants shall include the provincial governors, the City and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinators, municipal mayors or their Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators and members of the private sector and civil society organizations. Selected regional line agencies, government-owned or controlled corporations and other government-affiliated offices will be invited as resource speakers.
