A total of 17 programs and projects proposed by the CAR RDC’s six sectoral committees have been approved during the RDC Strategic Planning Conference held in Baguio City on February 12, 2012.
These banner programs and projects, presented to the body by the various Secom Chairpersons, were approved for implementation starting 2012. (Please click here for the complete list of approved banner programs and projects.)
Numbering about 125, the participants were led by RDC Chairman and Kalinga Governor Jocel C. Baac and Ifugao Governor Eugene Balitang. The two Governors delivered the Closing Remarks and Welcome Address, respectively. Also in attendance were RDC Co-Chairman and Geographic PSR for Baguio City Virgilio Bautista, and NEDA Dir. Leonardo N. Quitos who briefed the body on the Region’s State of the Development. CAR’s RLAs, OGAs, PLGUs, MILGUs and CSOs were likewise represented in the conference.
In his Inspirational Message, the RDC Co-Chairman encouraged everyone present by saying “What we plan today are the projects of tomorrow. Let’s do this for our brothers and sisters in the Cordillera, he added, citing the significant role each and everyone plays in regional development.
The identified secom banner programs and projects, all of which are expected to help the region attain its development goals, shall form part of the RDC Strategic Action Agenda for the period 2012 to 2016. These programs and projects are inter-agency undertakings, with counterpart funding from the RDC, RLAs, and in some cases, the CSOs.
