An intensified and more innovative Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on regional autonomy is expected in 2014.

During the Kapihan sa Baguio last 18 December 2013, Regional Development Council (RDC) Vice Chairman and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) CAR Director Milagros A. Rimando said that lessons were drawn from previous IEC strategies.

Rimando said that for 2014, radio and television broadcasting shall be utilized more to inform the people, especially those in the outskirts.  An RDC commissioned pulse survey this year revealed that radio remains to be a powerful medium of information to rural folks although television appears to be invading more and more rural homes.

The RDC, according to Rimando, already made an engagement with a radio drama production group to come up with stories meant for rural audiences.  She also said that RDC will try to invest on digitized stories to promote regional autonomy and pride of Cordillera history and its cultural heritage.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Director Clarence Baguilat agreed with digitized audio visuals on regional autonomy. This will be a better tool as opposed to just giving the people flyers to read.
