NEDA-CAR Director Susan A. Sumbeling presides the RPEB second semester meeting
Baguio City – The Regional Population Executive Board (RPEB) in its second semester meeting on October 2, 2023 enjoins the sectoral and support committees of the CAR RDC to integrate population and development concerns into their respective information and education campaigns.
The decision arose during the Board’s discussion of the Updated Regional Population and Development Plan of Action (RPD-POA) 2023-2028. The RPD-POA optimizes demographic opportunities and addresses persistent population issues and challenges to reap the benefits of demographic dividend in the region. The plan also provides medium-term objectives, strategies, and activities under the development areas of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP), Adolescent Health and Development (AHD), and Population and Development Integration (POPDEV). The Commission on Population and Development (CPD-CAR) is currently collecting data on potential indicators and Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) for monitoring across agencies and LGUs that will be integrated to the updated RPD-POA.
The CPD-CAR also awarded the winners of the 2023 Rafael M. Salas Regional Kaunlarang Pantao Award in the same event. The awardees were Ms. Honeylee B. Geronimo of Tabuk City, Kalinga and Ms. Junaline D. Valdez of Tuba, Benguet, for the city and municipality category, respectively.
