To acknowledge the accomplishments of volunteers in the country, the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) together with NEDA CAR solicit for nominations in the 2013 Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV).

Since 2001, the Search had given honor and recognition to 101 volunteers and volunteer organizations nationwide in recognition of the exemplary performance and dedication of Filipino volunteers, as they build strong communities across the country.

SOV has two award categories – the National Outstanding Volunteer Award (NOVA) and the Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award (VLAA). NOVA is for individuals and organizations while VLAA is for individuals and organizations that had been consistently doing volunteer activities for at least twenty-five years. A third award is the Special Citations for individuals and organizations that made an exemplary difference.

Among the SOV NOVA awardees from CAR include the Philex Mining Corporation (2009) from the Corporate sector, Mr. Marcelo A. Abela (2010) from the Agriculture sector, and Ms. Cristina S. Aban (2011) from the Academe.

Nomination forms are available at the NEDA-CAR and when accomplished must be submitted not later than August 23 this year.
